R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Level 1 Courses
Elementary Level
Each topic in Level One is presented in an entertaining story-like format, followed by hands-on activities, background science information, parent instructions, labs, reading lists, journaling ideas, and websites.
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Earth & Environment 1
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Earth & Environment 1, RSO Earth & Environment 1, covers scientific modeling, Earth’s “spheres,” weather, climate, the environment, erosion, & plate tectonics. Students study the the age of the earth and forces that shape it; and current pollution and environmental issues that affect water, land, and air.
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Astronomy 1
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Astronomy 1 includes scientific modeling, the solar system, space, physics of light, space travel, cosmology, the universe, the Big Bang, and gravity. Students study each planet as they travel through the solar system with Bunny and Dusty, the adorable space-dust bunnies. Short lessons, hands-on labs, and activities.
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Life 1
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Life 1, RSO Life 1, is divided into three sections: the human body, the animal kingdom, and the plant kingdom. Students study the major body systems through making models and doing tests on their own bodies. Animal kingdom labs include examining worms, mollusks, & butterfly metamorphosis. Students learn about the plant kingdom by experimenting with seeds, flowers, leaves, stems, and roots.
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Chemistry 1
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Chemistry 1 covers concepts usually reserved for high school chemistry, but are presented in way that youngsters can easily grasp. Topics covered include atoms, molecules, the periodic table, states of matter, acids and bases, and chemical reactions.
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Physics 1
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Physics 1 presents complicated physics concepts in a way that young people can comprehend and immediately apply to everyday play and work. Topics covered include the study of matter, motion, friction, work, sound and wave, magnetism, electricity, and even a glimpse into the quantum world.
R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Level 2 Courses
Middle to High School
Level Two courses bring science alive by engaging young people’s minds while they are actively participating in learning. The student text is written to the student so that they can learn independently. Teacher Guides are available for Level Two courses and are highly recommended.

R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey Biology 2 is a comprehensive course for life science at the middle school to high school level (grades 5 – 9). But unlike many science textbooks, RSO Biology 2 is not a dry collection of facts and worksheets but rather an in-depth course that engages young people’s minds at the same time they are actively participating in the learning of biology.

Middle School & High School Level
Transition your student to independent learning with minimal assistance from parent or teacher. Students learn information organization, literary analysis, research skills, and writing skills through reading some of the greatest literature for each time period. They’ll also learn outlining, timeline analysis, geography, and critical thinking through daily lessons with worksheets and blackline maps included. Although generally written for middle school-age children, many customers have successfully used Level Two History Odyssey courses for high school.
