About the Author
Blair Lee MS, author of The Science of Climate Change: A Hands-On Course, the primary author for the critically acclaimed REAL Science Odyssey Series, has been involved in science education for over two decades, first as a community college professor and secondly as a curriculum developer. She writes concept-rich, hands-on science courses that include mainstream science presenting the accepted facts, theories, and models as would be recommended by the majority of practicing experts in each field of science. Blair Lee MS is a passionate advocate of innovative academics where the focus is on how subjects are best learned. Blair understands that science is best learned when there is a thoughtful pairing of information followed directly with a hands-on application of that information. Blair Lee MS is the founder of Secular, Eclectic, Academic Homeschoolers and SEA Books & More.

The Science of Climate Change: A Hands-On Course focuses on the science concepts needed to understand why the climate is changing at this time, how humans are responsible, and what can be done to slow or stop the global warming that is causing climate change. Author Blair Lee MS
REAL Science Odyssey Astronomy 2 is a comprehensive astronomy course for grades 6 through 10. But unlike many science textbooks, this book is not a dry collection of facts and worksheets but rather an in-depth course that engages young people’s minds at the same time that they are actively participating in the learning of astronomy. Author Blair Lee MS
REAL Science Odyssey Astronomy 2 Teacher’s Guide is contained in two books (student text and teacher guide). Divided into 12 chapters, Astronomy 2 provides a complete semester-long astronomy course that is generally completed in 12 to 16 weeks. Some lab work, such as monitoring the sun and the moon over an extended period of time, is continued after completion of the main course. Author Blair Lee MS
Part stargazing journal and part astronomy lab, The Stargazer’s Notebook provides the ideal instruction manual, planner, journal, and cosmos laboratory for the astronomy student, amateur stargazer, and anyone else wanting to learn more about the stars, planets, and celestial objects that occupy our skies. Once every month for a whole year, you will learn about an interesting aspect of the cosmos. You will even prove that Earth revolves around, or orbits, the sun and not the other way around. Your goal is to view and draw meteor showers, falling stars, and maybe even a lunar or solar eclipse. Is a comet coming your way? Are the planets in a special alignment at any time this year? If so, you will learn how to view and draw these events. Author Blair Lee MS
In REAL Science Odyssey Earth & Environment 1, the topics include scientific modeling, a study of three of Earth’s “spheres,” weather, climate, the environment, erosion, and plate tectonics. Students study the weather; climate and climate change; the age of the earth and forces that shape it; and current pollution and environmental issues that affect water, land, and air. Short lessons are followed by several hands-on labs and activities including making a Pangaea puzzle, testing various methods of cleaning an oil spill, making a geologic timeline, and water cycle in a bowl. Rocks and minerals are studied in depth with students identifying their samples through the same tests used by geologists. Author Blair Lee MS
In REAL Science Odyssey Astronomy 1, the major topics include scientific modeling, solar system, space, physics of light, space travel, cosmology, the universe, and gravity. Students study each planet separately as they travel through the solar system with Bunny and Dusty, the adorable space-dust bunnies. Short lessons are followed by several hands-on labs and activities including mixing and separating light waves, learning why the sky is blue, modeling the Earth/moon/sun system, creating a Big Bang timeline, and making a comet. Space travel and exploration is a highlight of the course. Students make models of several spacecrafts, create a a travel map of the solar system, and launch a soda bottle rocket. Author Blair Lee MS
REAL Science Odyssey Biology 2 Teacher’s Guide is contained in two books a student text and a parent/teacher guide. The parent/teacher’s text provides all the help a science novice needs to assist students. Divided into 32 chapters, both texts together provide a rigorous and complete middle school biology course that covers a 36 week school year. Author Blair Lee MS
REAL Science Odyssey Chemistry 1 is appropriate for 2nd to 5th grade. This comprehensive course covers topics usually reserved for high school chemistry, but in way that youngsters can easily grasp. Topics covered include atoms, molecules, the periodic table, states of matter, acids & bases, and chemical reactions. Blair Lee MS
