Dogs: A Kid’s Book of Dog Breeds by Eve Heidi Bine-Stock is an award-winning educational book for children. The illustrations are incredibly beautiful, and the text is easily understood and entertaining. Historical facts that are included are written in an engaging and memorable manner that draws the young reader in at the start. Also included are accounts of famous people and their faithful canine companions, as well as remarkably detailed descriptions and profiles of each dog. With the histories of twenty of the most popular breeds, children will soon become well acquainted with the more recognizable dog breeds in America. I would recommend this book to children aged six and up.
This book was so fun to read. It includes many dog breeds that are the most popular for children and includes lots of fun information about each breed….I was once an elementary school librarian. If I still had a school library, this book would certainly be on my library shelves where I know it would get checked out often.
A charming, useful book. Each essay is clear, and interesting regarding the history of the dog breeds. The illustrations by Jean Batzell Fitzgerald are quirky and charming.
